A Feet of Endurance: 40 Miles, 4 Locations, and a Whole Lot of Heart

On Saturday 7th June, an incredible team of five walkers took on an extraordinary challenge for My Cancer My Choices — a 40-mile trek in one day, visiting all four of our therapy locations across Berkshire.

Originally known as the Thames Trotters, Nicki, Mandy, and Fiona were joined this year by two equally determined teammates, Chris and Isabelle, for the Ten Year Tribute Trek: A Feet of Endurance, celebrating our charity’s 10th anniversary.

The team set off from Bracknell Healthspace, walking to Charvil HQ, then CICM in Reading, and finally to Deanwood Golf Club in West Berkshire — the very places where we’ve provided thousands of complementary therapy appointments to people living with cancer since 2015. The day brought everything from moments of sunshine to torrential downpours, with Isabelle completing much of the route barefoot — a truly inspiring show of determination.

This challenge wasn’t just about the miles. It was a powerful show of what community support looks like — a reflection of the care, compassion, and resilience that runs through everything we do at My Cancer My Choices.

We are thrilled to share that the team has already raised over £9,000, with donations still coming in. Every step — and every pound — helps us continue offering vital therapies to those living with cancer, ensuring no one has to face their journey alone.
