Wellbeing Event a Great Showcase
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported us on Saturday 25th September at our Dedicated to Wellbeing event, held at our new premises in Charvil. The rain held off and people had the opportunity to chat to our therapists and enjoyed taking part in Yoga and Mindfulness sessions. Visitors got creative doing art and perused our art exhibition and their generosity on the day enabled us to raise over £1000! This will help us to buy the equipment needed to deliver our appointments such as acupuncture needles, massage oil and reflexology wax but also the PPE to keep volunteers and patients safe.
We welcomed The Deputy Mayor of Wokingham Borough, Cllr Abdul Loyes who took time to look around our new home in Charvil, understand how we support people with cancer in Berkshire and welcomed the charity to the borough. We were also thrilled that our first ever patient, Margaret, who used our service in 2015 was able to come along on the day.
We have many people to thank who helped the event run smoothly: our amazing team of volunteers on the day who helped us put up the marquee, gazebos and manned stalls; the ongoing generosity of Accord who let us use their grounds to host our event; Kingdom Coffee who donated all the tea, coffee, their coffee machine and urn to enable us to offer refreshments to people.
If you are looking for a great musician for your event we can highly recommend James who entertained our guests on Saturday afternoon with a versatile mix of music that really set the mood. https://www.facebook.com/jamesfarrantsinger/
Finally, congratulations to Tamina from Twyford who won our live spin challenge again!
