Thank you for donating to My Cancer My Choices
Every 2 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer.
How it works
We offer free complementary therapies for individuals living with cancer in Berkshire, supported by donations to sustain our vital services.
Our therapists are all volunteers and give their time and expertise for free, as do the lovely people who answer the phone and welcome you when you arrive.
We pay for the continuing professional development of our therapists, car parking, all equipment – acupuncture needles, oils, phones and IT and even this website. Donations are vital in enabling us to continue.
We make the most of every volunteer and make sure we avoid unnecessary administration costs.
Wrap someone with cancer in care, this Christmas!
When you think of Christmas, what comes to mind? For many of us it’s twinkling lights on the tree, the smell of something roasting in the oven, laughter around the table, maybe a cheesy film and a mug of hot chocolate.
But for someone living with cancer, Christmas can feel very different. The food is on the table, but treatment side-effects steal away the appetite. The carols may be playing, but pressure and exhaustion can make it hard to join in.
That’s why My Cancer My Choices exists. Our complementary therapies ease pain, calm anxiety, and bring comfort when it’s needed most. More than that, we help people feel like themselves again, so they can live in the moment and enjoy Christmas, and every day, to the fullest.
We’ve even had people describe our service as “sanity-saving.” For them, it’s not just about therapy. It’s about being reminded that cancer doesn’t define them, and it doesn’t get to dictate their joy.
Everything we do is only possible because of people like you. Without your donations, we simply couldn’t open our doors, and hundreds of people would miss out on the care and support that makes such a difference.

Donations are extremely important to our charity and help make a huge difference to the lives of our service users.
By choosing to give a regular monthly donation, you will be helping us to plan ahead and make long-term improvements for our service users.
We’re excited to launch an additional way to support My Cancer My Choices through The Good Exchange, an online donation platform designed to make donating easier, and more impactful.
While anyone across the UK can donate, our project is focused on supporting people with a cancer diagnosis in West Berkshire, giving them access to complementary therapies that can make a real difference during their treatment journey.
And right now, your gift goes even further. For the next 6 months or until we reach £5000, all donations made through The Good Exchange will be match-funded £ for £, thanks to the generosity of Greenham Trust. That means every pound you give doubles in impact.

Making a Will is an important way of looking after the future of your family and friends. After you’ve taken care of loved ones, you may wish to leave a gift in your Will to your favourite charity.
It’s a little known fact that most charities wouldn’t survive without gifts in Wills.
By remembering My Cancer My Choices in this way, you’re ensuring that our work will continue to provide some respite for others.
If you choose to leave us a gift, we can provide you with our official charity name, address and registered charity number to give to your professional advisor and codicil should you need it.
Whenever you have a wardrobe clear out, you can donate your quality clothing to us. We accept men’s, women’s and children’s clothing that is high-end, top-quality and sellable, as well as clean and dry, along with shoes (tied together in pairs). Our sustainable clothing partner, Frankie and Ruby lovingly resell items and donate a minimum 50% of the proceeds to My Cancer My Choices.
If you click on the link below you can find out exactly how this collaboration works which, just last year, has already raised over £2000 for the charity. Turn your preloved clothes into sustainable fashion for others and raise money for us at the same time.
In times of loss, it’s often helpful to be able to honour the memory of someone special through a donation to a suitable charity, so that their legacy can live on.
For a recent loss, many also wish to ask family and friends to donate money to a suitable charity, in place of sending flowers to the funeral or memorial.
We have chosen Memory Giving to provide a safe, secure method of collecting donations in memory of a special person. They collect Gift Aid, which further increases the donation, and enable donors to leave a message in tribute to the person being remembered.
There are many reasons for businesses to give to charity, a need to be philanthropic, employee engagement, personal emotional reward, even tax benefits.
Whatever your reasons, making a donation to My Cancer My Choices, whether one-off or ongoing, will make an enormous difference to those living with or recovering from cancer.
“We decided to support a local charity as part of our corporate social responsibility and chose My Cancer My Choices when it was all still just a kernel of an idea. As the charity has grown and developed it has been a joy to watch, an inspiration for our other members, and a privilege to be part of, particularly hearing the impact the charity has had so far on the people it serves.”
