Volunteering with My Cancer My Choices
At MCMC, we’re dedicated to empowering people with cancer by providing complementary therapies to relieve the side effects of cancer and its treatment. By joining our award-winning team, you become an integral part of this mission, contributing directly to the positive impact and enhanced wellbeing that our complementary therapies provide to those living with cancer, and developing your knowledge and skills in a supportive environment. We couldn’t do what we do without our wonderful volunteers.
We offer a wide range of traditional volunteering roles as well as flexible support opportunities — you’ll find all our current roles listed below. If none of these fit your availability, you can still get involved through micro-volunteering. These are small, no-commitment tasks that can be done in just a few minutes to an hour, often from home:
- Sharing a charity campaign post on social media
- Writing a Google or Facebook review for the charity
- Voting for MCMC in a local funding or community award scheme
- Leaving a testimonial or story for use in marketing
- Suggesting local groups or contacts for outreach

VOLUNTEER VACANCIES
Volunteer Therapists
Hands-on help for people with cancer.
The caring touch, support and understanding you provide is often all that it takes to help a person with cancer feel like they’re taking control of their health and wellbeing again.
To become a volunteer therapist you’ll need to have a recognised qualification, and have completed the NHS volunteer checks, which we will organise.
Charity Support & Leadership Volunteers
Providing the warm welcome that puts our guests at ease.
Often the first contact visitors have with My Cancer My Choices, our meeter greeters help to take bookings and guide visitors through what to expect when they come for a treatment.
You don’t need specialist knowledge, just time, warmth and understanding.
Fundraising Volunteers
Finding the means to help us keep going.
We wouldn’t be able to offer the support that we do without the time, energy and enthusiasm of our fundraisers.
Our fundraisers are brand ambassadors and integral to our success, helping us raise essential funds and awareness for our mission to empower people with cancer.
Flexible Support Volunteers
Small roles that make a big difference.
From putting up posters to helping at a one-off event, our flexible support volunteering opportunities are perfect if you want to help but can’t commit regularly. Take a look at the options below, together with examples, to see which opportunity is most suitable to you. You are also welcome to sign up for more than one opportunity type.
Even a small task can help us support someone with cancer when they need it most.
